  • LCSW Supervision

My goal is to help you build confidence, sharpen your clinical skills, and feel prepared for the next step in your career. Supervision is available in several states, and sessions are designed to fit your unique path and pace. Let’s work together to make your licensure journey clear, empowering, and achievable.

  • EMDR Therapy

A powerful approach for processing trauma, anxiety, and painful memories. Think of it as helping your brain “reorganize” distressing experiences so they no longer feel overwhelming or intrusive. Through guided recall and gentle stimulation techniques, EMDR helps you heal and move forward—without reliving the pain.

Meet Nick Harper

I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, drawing on years of experience helping people from various backgrounds. I have a special focus on LGBTQ-affirmative therapy, and I use a trauma-focused lens to guide the work. My approach is eclectic: I blend techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychodynamic, and solution-focused therapies, among others, to tailor your care to your specific needs.

I completed my Master of Social Work at Columbia University in New York in 2010. During my tenure, I furthered my training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, with a focus on care for LGBTQ+ outpatient adults. Over the past twelve years, I’ve had the honor of working with a myriad of individuals representing all gender expressions, sexual orientations, and diverse relationship configurations, including polyamory, consensual non-monogamy, kink, and BDSM.

Therapy with me isn’t about ticking boxes, it’s about meeting you where you are and walking alongside you, whatever your story. You deserve more than just being listened to. You deserve to feel understood, supported, and empowered. If that sounds like the kind of care you’re looking for, I’m ready when you are.

I work with adults facing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, trauma, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and substance use. My practice is also affirming for LGBTQ+ individuals and anyone seeking sex-positive, nonjudgmental support.

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what’s bringing you in, your goals, and any questions you may have about therapy. You set the pace—there’s no pressure to share anything before you’re ready.

Yes! My practice is 100% virtual. All sessions are conducted via secure telehealth, so you can access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space, wherever you are licensed to receive care.

Most clients start with weekly sessions, but we’ll determine a schedule that works for you and your needs.

Absolutely. Your privacy and trust are at the heart of the work we do. The information you share in a session is confidential, with very few legal exceptions (which I’ll explain upfront).

I work with select insurance plans and offer private pay options. I’m happy to discuss payment and insurance questions before we schedule your first session.

Finding the right fit is essential. If you’d like to discuss therapy before committing, I offer a complimentary phone consultation to address your questions and help you determine if we’re a good fit.

Just reach out through the contact form, email, or phone. I’ll get back to you promptly so we can set up your first appointment or a brief consultation call.

This happens, and that’s okay! Therapy is for YOU! We know from research that the therapeutic alliance between clinician/client is the most significant indicator of change. If I am not the best fit for you, I will help you connect with a clinician to transition to.
